Live from Detroit! Did we dance or DID WE DANCE? Super Salsa Weekend had more than a lot of music, dancing, workshops and performances: it had a heart and it had soul. A bit of a dream come true, a bit of a mountain to climb. This was the biggest event YA has ever attempted and we are proud to say that Detroit really showed that it is a salsa city. Many months of saving the proceeds from all the other socials allowed us to invite some of the biggest names in salsa, two bands and 600 of our best friends to to make it a weekend to remember. Nellie watching the table at the workshops In the beginning this was just going to be another weekend with some out of town instructors, but little by little it began to grow and take on a life of its own. Conversations led to plans and plans led to actions. SUNDAY October 19th Argentine Tango Detroit is adding a Monthly Salsa Mixer to their calendar! This is a great chance for salsa students to meet new friends, practice what you learn, or if your already a hot Salsero/a a chance to show off what you can do. ATD provides a friendly and comfortable atmosphere, in a great location in Downtown Utica. Opening night is Sunday, October 19, 2008. and they will have the monthly Mixer on the 3rd Sunday of each month. The mixer opens with a mini salsa lesson starting at 8:30pm, and the dance floor opens at 9pm until about 11pm or so! read more
